SSC MTS (Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff) is a national-level examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in India. The exam is held to recruit candidates for various non-technical Group C posts in different government departments and ministries.
Eligibility: Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Nationality: Indian citizen or subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee settled in India
- Age Limit: 18 to 25 years (age relaxation is provided for certain categories)
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed 10th standard or equivalent from a recognized board.
Exam Pattern: The SSC MTS exam consists of two stages:
1. Paper 1 (Computer-Based Examination): This objective-type exam assesses candidates' general intelligence and reasoning ability, numerical aptitude, general English, and general awareness. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
2. Paper 2 (Descriptive Paper): This paper is conducted to test basic writing skills. Candidates have to write a short essay or letter in English or any other language mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution. The duration is 30 minutes.
Selection Process: The selection process for SSC MTS includes qualifying the Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams. Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper 1 are shortlisted for Paper 2. Final selection is based on the candidate's performance in both papers.
