About Bihar STET

The Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary and secondary schools within the state of Bihar, India.

The STET examination is divided into two papers:

1. Paper I: This paper is for candidates interested in teaching primary classes (classes 1 to 5). It tests the candidates' proficiency in subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi/Urdu/Bangla/Maithili), Language II (English/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.

2. Paper II: This paper is for candidates interested in teaching upper primary classes (classes 6 to 8). It covers subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and specific subjects like Mathematics & Science or Social Studies.

Candidates who wish to be considered eligible for teaching positions in both primary and upper primary levels need to appear for both Paper I and Paper II.

The eligibility criteria, syllabus, examination pattern, and application process for the Bihar STET may change from year to year, so it's advisable to refer to the official notification provided by the Bihar School Examination Board or the concerned authorities for the most up-to-date and accurate information.

It's important to note that my information is accurate up until September 2021, so there may have been changes or updates to the Bihar STET since then. I recommend checking the official Bihar School Examination Board website or official sources for the latest information regarding the Bihar STET examination.

Here's a general overview of the selection process for the Bihar STET based on the Latest criteria:

1. **Written Examination:** The primary component of the selection process is the written examination. Candidates need to appear for the respective Paper I or Paper II examination based on the level and subjects they are interested in teaching. The written examination is designed to assess the candidates' knowledge, understanding of pedagogical concepts, and subject-specific expertise.

2. **Document Verification:** After the written examination, candidates who qualify will typically undergo a document verification process. During this phase, candidates are required to submit their educational and other relevant certificates and documents for verification. This step is crucial to confirm the authenticity of the provided information and ensure that candidates meet the eligibility criteria.

3. **Final Selection:** The final selection is typically based on the performance of candidates in the written examination and the document verification process. The scores obtained in the written examination, along with the fulfillment of educational qualification requirements and document verification, play a key role in determining the candidates' eligibility for teaching positions.

4. **Merit List:** Based on the candidates' performance in the written examination and the document verification process, a merit list is usually prepared. Candidates who rank higher in the merit list have a better chance of being considered for teaching positions in schools under the Bihar School Examination Board.
